A cactus stands in the desert wide No shoes no shade no place to hide Its arms reach up to a sky so dry But it dreams of rain it dreams to fly Cactus dreams in the moonlit glow Wishing for rivers where winds don't blow It stands so still but it longs to go Cactus dreams no one will ever know The sand whispers secrets the night can't hear Stars fall like teardrops but never near The cactus waits in its quiet cage A thousand years on a lonely stage If it could walk it would chase the streams If it could sing it would shout its dreams But roots hold tight in the dusty seams Cactus stuck in its endless themes Cactus dreams in the moonlit glow Wishing for rivers where winds don't blow It stands so still but it longs to go Cactus dreams no one will ever know In the silence of a desert tune Under the watch of a jealous moon The cactus dreams and its heart consumes A hope that blooms where no flower looms
