Back in the day smooth groove

Sitting here, looking out my window,
watching the time go by.
Birds chirping, sunny day,
memories of the 80s play. Kids laughing, sprinklers on,
hopscotch, double dutch all along. Sitting here, feeling the breeze,
watching life flow with ease. Time takes me back to the days we had that spark. Sitting here, looking out my window,
watching the traffic flow by. I remember way back when,
the games we used to play, the things we used to say,
and it went this way… Swing, swing, swing by the riverside,
rocking in the treetop all day long. Huffing and puffing and singing that song. All the little birds on Jambers Street
love to hear the robin go tweet, tweet, tweet. I went upstairs to make my bed,
I accidentally bumped my head. To the front, to the back, to the side, side, side
to the front, to the back, to the side, side, side. Hey heyyyy, rock on with your bad self… Back in the day, when the block was alive,
windows open, music riding through the night. Everybody outside, no need for a screen,
just neighborhood dreams and everything in between. Ahh… da-da-da… Friday night glow, streetlights lit,
double dutch ropes and the steady quick skip. Voices in the air, everybody in time,
just living that moment, feeling that rhyme. Slide to the left, slide to the right,
keep that groove in the Saturday night. We don’t rush, we just let it ride,
memories bouncing side to side. Hey…
rock on…
rock on… da-da-da… fade…
