Verse 1 I’m painting this bridge, from end to end, By the time I’m done, I’ll start again. Passersby laugh, they point and they tease, “Hey, bridge man, ever thought of trees?” Rain comes down, I take a break, Snow starts falling, another delay. Family asks, “Why bother at all?” But someone’s gotta keep this bridge from the fall. Chorus It’s the bridge blues, it’s what I do, From the start to the end, then back through. It may seem crazy, may seem strange, But without this bridge, nothing would change. Verse 2 A man in a hat stops to jeer, “Hey, bridge man, how long you been here?” I laugh it off, I’ve heard it before, While painting the rails and sweeping the floor. Wind picks up, paint starts to drip, The river below makes the whole bridge slip. I take a step back, admire the view, This bridge connects me, and it connects you. Chorus It’s the bridge blues, it’s what I do, From the start to the end, then back through. It may seem crazy, may seem strange, But without this bridge, nothing would change. ( Bridge For families to meet and lovers to kiss, For trucks to roll and kids not to miss. A bridge isn’t just steel, wood, and stone, It’s the thread that ties us all to home. Verse 3 Summer heat burns the paint right off, Winter snow makes the metal scoff. The job’s never done, it’s a loop, it’s a race, But someone’s gotta keep this bridge in its place. Neighbors laugh, but they drive right through, No one wonders what keeps it brand new. They see the bridge, they cross with ease, While I’m painting, fighting the breeze. Chorus It’s the bridge blues, it’s what I do, From the start to the end, then back through. It may seem crazy, may seem strange, But without this bridge, nothing would change. Outro So here I stand, brush in my hand, Painting this bridge to connect the land. It’s a Sisyphean task, but I don’t mind, Because bridges unite us, they’re one of a kind.
