Blood don’t freeze clean. Someone here’s got a story bent just outta shape, And I don’t like bent things. We started with HoG, that cool little cat, A silver tongue and a tail like a welcome mat. Said they saw Kyora sip, then slip outside, But a beaver that don’t drink? That don’t slide. "One glass, untouched," they said before, Now they stirred their vermouth a little more. "Maybe I got it wrong, maybe he left alone..." But a ripple in their voice said there’s more to be known. Dr. Slothson stretched, slow as time, "Odd, don’t you think, that a memory unwinds?" HoG just smiled, sleek and sly, "Detectives, I just pour the rye." Footsteps fade but whispers grow, Snow holds secrets, deep below. Somebody knows, somebody lied, And the ice won’t keep it quiet tonight. Sebastian the Bear leaned back with a growl, Grizzled fur, thick like a winter cowl. "Kyora? That rodent with the electric dreams?" His voice was low, thick with steam. "Yeah, we fought, so what? That’s old." "He thought he was music, I thought he was bold." Smashed a paw on the bar, made the bottles shake, "But murder ain’t in me, make no mistake." I eyed the counter, traced my wing, A single knife missing—a telling thing. "You say you don’t kill, you say you don’t lie," "Then tell me, big bear—where were you last night?" Seb bristled, eyes dark, then sighed, "Sleeping it off while the storm rolled by." No one backed him. No one spoke. Just the crackle of fire, and the scent of smoke. Footsteps fade but whispers grow, Snow holds secrets, deep below. Somebody knows, somebody lied, And the ice won’t keep it quiet tonight. Out in the cold, the wind bit deep, A night so dark even silence weeps. Then Slothson stopped, claws in snow, "Sherlock... look there... under the willow’s shadow." The body lay twisted, half in ice, A dark stain spreading—silent, precise. A bar knife gleamed from his chest so still, Kyora’s song cut off, against his will. The sirens wailed, the cuffs locked tight, Seb stood frozen, bathed in white. "I didn’t do it!"* he roared, a mountain’s plea, But the ice just whispered... cold, carefree. Footsteps fade but whispers grow, Snow holds secrets, deep below. Somebody knows, somebody lied, And the ice won’t keep it quiet tonight. One dead beaver. One big bear in chains. One case cracked open, spilling lies like broken glass. But a cut this clean? No, this ain’t over. Not by a long shot.
