Santa’s Time Off

[Verse] Santa trades the sleigh for skies so blue Fishing rod in hand he's got nothing to do Reindeer grazing while he skips stones Santa's got the whole year to enjoy his own Baking cookies in the cabin tucked away Mrs. Claus is laughing every single day Snowy nights turn into warm fireside chats Santa reading novels hanging up his hats [Pre-Chorus] Peaceful days drift softly by No more hustle, no more sky-high [Chorus] Santa’s Time Off, oh the jingle all but fades to soft No more hustle bustle just a man laid off Hot cocoa mornings and starry night skies Santa finds his peace where tranquility lies Santa’s Time Off [Verse] Santa's on the beach with toes in the sand Building sandcastles not a single demand Waves crashing softly a distant lullaby Santa nods off with a smile on his eye [Bridge] He takes long walks through whispering woods Carving wooden toys whenever he could Whistling melodies sweet and serene Santa in the forest living the dream [Verse] Gardening his greens in the springtime glow Planting seeds of joy watching them grow Birds chirping gently as he tends to his lot Santa in the garden forgets not a spot But soon he marks the calendar, one special day To trade his calm for sleigh and holiday display [Pre-Chorus] The quiet fades, excitement starts Santa ready with all his heart [Final Chorus] Santa’s Time Off, oh the jingle all returns tonight Sleigh bells ringing in the starlit light Hot cocoa mornings now replaced by flight Santa leads the joy with hearts so bright From rooftops high to chimneys tight He brings the magic, Christmas takes its height Santa’s Time Off [Outro] The North Pole rests as night falls slow Santa dreams of all the love to show For soon again the sleigh will fly Through starry skies, Christmas by and by
