Sing, Elect Lady

[Strong Female Mermaid Lead — ALL LYRICS SUNG] She knows the secret chord of David— DO YOU? If you know it— AMEN! If you don't, you shall hear it before this song is through. Then hit repeat— FOR GOOD MEASURE! I learned the water. I learned the wave. I learned the compass of the body God made. The body in the sea. The body on the earth. The Body of Christ— I KNOW WHAT A NET IS WORTH. I watched from the boat before I took my turn. I watched where they fell. I watched how they learned. Then into the water— the pull, the foam, the eyes upon me, the motor's low groan. Counsel from the boat— I fought it, then heard. I pushed against the water and trusted the word. I LOOKED OUT! The whole body knew when my feet found the floor— I CAUGHT THE WAVE! MENDING THE NETS NO MORE! [Chorus] SING, ELECT LADY! I'M ALREADY SINGING! WHAT SAITH THE DEEP? RISE, AND MEASURE! WHAT SAITH THE LORD? SHE SHALL RISE UP IN THE JUDGMENT! A GREATER THAN SOLOMON IS HERE! I heard His voice from shore to shore— FOLLOW ME! MENDING THE NETS NO MORE! [Verse] They found the brothers mending their nets, working the thing they already knew best. Then Jesus called— “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” They left the ship. They followed Him. The net had a purpose. The sea had a lesson. But when the Lord called— FOLLOW HIM! MENDING THE NETS NO MORE! [The Hats] She comes wearing hats— NONE SHE HAD NOT WORN FIRST. Daughter. Sister. Aunt. Friend. Companion. Teacher. Wife. Swimmer. Dancer. Caretaker. Bride. Every hat has a story. Every story left a mark. She learned to read the body. She learned to read the dark. She doesn't borrow another woman's pain. She doesn't wear a title just to speak a name. IF SHE COMES WEARING THE HAT, SHE'S WORN IT BEFORE. COMPANION— THE WIFE OF THY COVENANT. She walked beside thee. She learned thy sound. She knew when thou wert rising. She knew when thou wert down. HOW DID YOU STEWARD THE COMPANION GOD GAVE THEE? What measure did you measure? What portion did you keep? What did you do with weakness entrusted unto thee? Mother. Sister. Daughter. Bride. WHO DID YOU BECOME WHEN SHE STOOD AT YOUR SIDE? [Verse] I was weak in the water. They knew what I lacked. They had every advantage— AND NEVER USED IT LIKE THAT. They were patient. They were kind. They coached their sister through the crashing tide. They did not use weakness to pull me beneath. They comforted. They edified. Then rejoiced with me! When one was honoured, the whole body roared— YES AND AMEN! THAT'S HOW THE STRONG STEWARD STRENGTH! [Bridge] Sweet in the mouth. Bitter within. “Thou must prophesy again” Peoples! Nations! Tongues! Kings! The witness tarried. The words remained. Then came the reed. Then came the command— RISE! AND MEASURE! [The Secret Chord] She knows the secret chord of David— DO YOU? David took the harp. David lifted the sound. But his strength wasn't hiding in the strings he played. “The LORD is my strength and my shield;” “My heart trusted in him, and I am helped:” THERE'S THE CHORD! THERE'S THE SOUND! THERE'S THE ROCK WHEN THE WAVES COME DOWN! WHO IS THE LOVE OF OUR LIFE? JESUS CHRIST! [Build] Strength and honour are her clothing. Strengthened with might by His Spirit within. I learned the water. I learned the wave. I learned the pull. I learned the eyes. I learned not every voice gets to steer my life. I learned the deep— AND THE DEEP LEARNED MY SOUND. But you are looking at the woman in the water— MY LIFE IS HID WITH CHRIST IN GOD! Made to sit in heavenly places IN CHRIST JESUS! My mortal body is still in the water— BUT LOOK WHERE MY LIFE IS HID! GLORY! GLORY! GLORY! [Final Chorus] SING, ELECT LADY! I'M ALREADY SINGING! WHAT SAITH THE DEEP? RISE, AND MEASURE! WHAT SAITH THE LORD? SHE SHALL RISE UP IN THE JUDGMENT! A GREATER THAN SOLOMON IS HERE! FOLLOW ME! FISHERS OF MEN! PROVE ALL THINGS! PROPHESY AGAIN! THE WITNESS TARRIED! THE WORD ENDURED! THE VOICE OF THE SHEPHERD IS STILL BEING HEARD! I HAVE BEEN IN THE WATER. I HAVE BEEN ON THE SHORE. I HAVE WORN EVERY HAT THAT I CAME WEARING FOR. I KNOW WHAT A NET IS FOR. BUT I HEARD— FOLLOW ME! MENDING THE NETS— NO MORE! [Outro] Daughter. Sister. Aunt. Friend. Companion. Teacher. Wife. Swimmer. Dancer. Caretaker. Bride. Every hat she came wearing— SHE HAD WORN BEFORE. Every wave taught something. Every scar had a sound. So what was the secret chord of David? Not the harp. Not the string. Not the hands of an earthly king. David told you where his strength came from— THE LORD. Now you know. AMEN! And if you missed it— HIT REPEAT FOR GOOD MEASURE! RISE, AND MEASURE! MENDING THE NETS NO MORE! JESUS IS THE LORD
