The Sound of Kindness

Hello Cheryl, my old friend, We’ve come to group — the week must end. We’ve been riding on the struggle bus, Spilled our coffee — still showed up, because There’s a power in this circle when we share — Our messy care… Within the sound… of kindness. In restless dreams I scrolled too late, Missed my meds — my brain’s not great. And my phone screen softly glowing, Showed a meme that kept me going. When my feed was stabbed by the flash of therapy quotes, My soul took notes… And whispered, “Breathe — find kindness.” And in the office light we saw, Ten brave hearts and maybe more. People laughing through the crying, People healing while still trying. People nodding like, “Same thing happened just last night,” We’re quite a sight — But we survived… through kindness. “Fools,” said I, “I used to know, Self-compassion helps you grow. Hear my words that I might reach you, Take your meds — let Cheryl teach you.” And my tears, like raindrops pressed, Fell and echoed… in kindness. And the people bowed and prayed, To the coping skills they’d made. And the mantra flashed its warning, “MSR again this morning!” And the friends said, “Hey — bad days come, that’s okay — We’ll laugh away…” And Cheryl smiled — “It’s Friday, find your peace… In kindness.”
