This cannot happen, not to me, A shock you never thought you’d see? Like some surreal and creepy show, With nowhere left for you to go. Disaster struck without a fate, So stand and open up the gate. I knew them all, every face, Held them in a close embrace. But never did I sink this low, I let them in, I let it grow. To two I even gave the keys… Now I could scream and fall to knees. And all I want is just to fly, To run beneath a distant sky. To spend my whole life in a shake, Than yield for their unholy sake. But now my feet are rooted deep, As shadows through my vision creep. Or should I enter, proud and tall, To serve the guests who had the gall? To tell them plainly, face to face, I will not love in such a place. Then howl until the silence breaks, To drive them out for all our sakes. A veil is drawn before my sight, My head is lost in foggy night. A lie so shameless and so vast— From every thought, I’m free at last. Oh, see me slip, I’m losing ground, To hit the floor without a sound.
