We wander through the shadows, between the joy and pain A mind still in the making, caught out in the rain We search for something higher, we try to force the door But pride will only build a wall across the barren floor The guardians of the threshold are waiting in the dark You cannot steal the fire, you cannot fake the spark Oh, the cosmic flash will find you when you least expect the light Not won by heavy striving, not born of sudden might It’s a quiet revelation, a sudden blinding grace When you lay down all your armor and learn to know your place A lightning strike of spirit, a whisper from above It only fills a vessel that’s emptied out for love Some will chase the glory, they want to wear the crown They try to build a ladder to bring the heavens down But the higher that they scramble, the harder they will fall For cosmic understanding comes to those who serve the all The jungle still is beating beneath the civil skin You have to lose your ego before the light gets in Oh, the cosmic flash will find you when you least expect the light Not won by heavy striving, not born of sudden might It’s a quiet revelation, a sudden blinding grace When you lay down all your armor and learn to know your place A lightning strike of spirit, a whisper from above It only fills a vessel that’s emptied out for love It’s not a prize to capture, it’s not a badge to wear It’s the gentle illumination in the center of a prayer When you stumble in the darkness and feel you’ve lost your way The flash will come to guide you and turn the night to day Oh, the cosmic flash will find you when you least expect the light Not won by heavy striving, not born of sudden might It’s a quiet revelation, a sudden blinding grace When you lay down all your armor and learn to know your place A lightning strike of spirit, a whisper from above It only fills a vessel that’s emptied out for love Let the flash of the cosmic guide you Wait for the light in the dark Humble your heart, let it find you Wait for the genuine spark.
