Smoke upon the branches, Silver through the leaves, Stars are burning slowly In the midnight trees. I walk where shadows wander, Beneath a violet sky, The moon is pale and distant, But something watches from inside. The pines begin to breathe now, The earth begins to sway, And every cloud of smoke I see Carries the night away. Forest night... When you start to lose sight Forest night... Of your own mind Smoke is rising, Stars are turning, My mind escapes Darkness whispers my name. The branches form a temple, The roots become a throne, I hear a distant voice Calling me where I've never gone. Blue fire in the heavens, Black shadows on the ground, The deeper that I wander, The less I hear the world around. Forest night... When you start to lose sight Forest night... Of your own mind Smoke is rising, Stars are turning, My mind escapes, Darkness whispers my name. Now the moon has disappeared, And the stars are growing near, I cannot tell the heavens From the branches over here. The forest closes slowly, Like a dream around my soul, And somewhere in the darkness I forget the way back home. Forest night... When you start to lose sight of your own mind... Forest night... From reality let me disappear tonight... Smoke is rising... Stars are burning... My mind escapes Forest night...
