[Spoken Word Verse] Open up the book to First Kings twenty-one See the heavy judgment for the deeds she had done Elijah gave the word standing true and bold A stone-cold warning from the days of old Said the pride of Jezebel would be cast right down Left for the wild dogs at the edge of town Now that same ancient spirit walks the streets today Trading the truth just to get her own way [Sung Heavy Country Rock Chorus] But the tower is shaking, the high walls must yield! The carcass is dung on the face of the field! You can paint up your face, you can tilt your head, But you can't outrun what the prophets have said! Yeah the judgment is coming, the hammer will fall, The writing is clear on the Jezreel wall! [Spoken Word Verse] To Eve the lie began right there in the shade The very first promise that the rebel had made Told her eat the fruit when the warning was high You’ll be just like God and you never will die Now the modern tongue claims a spiritual view Saying I don't need a man to see my life through They won't submit to a sovereign hand Walking the path of a hollow land [Sung Heavy Country Rock Chorus] But the tower is shaking, the high walls must yield! The carcass is dung on the face of the field! You can paint up your face, you can tilt your head, But you can't outrun what the prophets have said! Yeah the judgment is coming, the hammer will fall, The writing is clear on the Jezreel wall! [Spoken Word Bridge] Jehu entered the gate, looked up to the heights Shouted who’s on my side in the dead of the nights They threw her down from the window sill The word of the Lord coming true on the hill [Spoken Word Outro] Nothing but the skull, the feet, and the palms of her hands Left like dust on the dirt of the lands Returning to ground, unrecognizable anymore Yeah the illusion is broken Lost to the wind [End]
