[Title: The Puppets of the Power - George Washington, Part 1] [Verse 1] Across the wide Atlantic sea, beneath a colonial sky, The ordinary settlers worked, and watched the years go by. They grew the crops and built the towns, creating life so pure, Believing that their honest sweat would make their peace endure. But far away in London courts, the ministers would hide, Writing down their tax decrees with cold and arrogant pride. They didn't care about the land or what the people made, While their cold administration broke the sovereign trade. [Verse 2] The wealthy local merchants saw a chance to take the wheel, To wrap the public anger round their own financial steel. They shouted out for liberty, for freedom from the crown, And placed the common soldiers in the front of every town. George Washington stepped to the front, a general in his prime, To lead the broken infantry through winter and the grime. The battlefield was set to be a grand and bloody stage, To lock the living human souls inside an official page. [Verse 3] The ordinary men of the ground marched blindly in the cold, To trade the British tax collector for a bond of local gold. They didn't see the layout of the calculated game, Where rulers shift the borders but the system stays the same. No automated signature could feel the quiet, rising strain, Of how they used the cry of freedom just to camouflage the chain. But even in the shadow of their rigid, military line, The independent spirit holds the law of the divine! [Chorus] The puppet theater is truly closing now, the curtain falls and they stand exposed, No more strings and no more crowns, We watch with our Hands raised high, And see them standing in the full light... And they never acted like that again, and they never acted like that again. Born in Freedom, And in Freedom, we will live on .. [Outro] The colonial flags will fade away, the empires turn to dust, The manufactured states will always crumble and will rust. My body is a temple, pure from the very start, And no wooden master commands this living heart. Born in Freedom, And in Freedom, we will live on ..
