When it rings
(Verse 1) I’m coming home, back from school. It was so dark today. No one by my side, I stood alone and even fists found me there. (Refrain) Mama! I love you more than words! Mama! I need you… now! Mama! Please make time for me! Mama! Oh help me, please! (Bridge) And then we sit, just you and me, together in our kitchen. And suddenly that sound begins to ring… (Verse 2) That ringing, pulling you away. That ringing, tearing you from me. That ringing, splitting us apart. And then it says… “You’re not worth the time.” “You’re not worth the time!” (Refrain) Mama! I love you more than words! Mama! I need you… now! Mama! Please make time for me! Mama! Where are you now?? (Verse 3) And years later still, I hear it: that ringing inside my head, whispering: “You’re not worth the time.” “I don’t have any room for you.” “You’re not worth the time.”
