O LORD my God, in You I seek refuge; Save me from all my pursuers and deliver me, Lest like a lion they tear my soul apart, Rending in pieces, with none to rescue. O LORD my God, if I have done this— If there is injustice in my hands, If I have repaid my friend with evil Or plundered my foe without cause— Then let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it, Let him trample my life to the ground And lay my glory in the dust. Selah Arise, O LORD, in Your anger; Lift Yourself up against the fury of my foes; Awake for me; You have ordained justice. Let the assembly of peoples encompass You, And over them return on high. The LORD judges the peoples; Vindicate me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, According to my integrity within me. Let the evil of the wicked come to an end, But establish the righteous— For You test the hearts and minds, O righteous God. My shield is with God, Who saves the upright in heart. God is a righteous judge, A God who feels indignation every day. If one does not repent, He will sharpen His sword; He has bent His bow and made it ready. He has prepared His deadly weapons, Making His arrows fiery shafts. See how the wicked one conceives evil, Is pregnant with mischief, And gives birth to lies. He digs a pit and hollows it out, Then falls into the hole he has made. His mischief returns upon his own head; His violence descends on his own crown. I will thank the LORD for His righteousness, And sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
