Whispers of Obad-Hai

Beneath the roots where shadows hide, I hear the brook, the forest’s guide. The sparrow sings, the branches sway, All is bound in Obad-Hai. The burrow deep, the moss-walled den, Are temples built by gnome and wren. The fox, the hare, the owl, the dove, Each proclaims the Shalm’s true love. O Shalm, Green Father, fierce and free, Keeper of storm and harmony. Though I am small, my vow is high: To serve the balance of Obad-Hai. The river flows, the mountain stands, The forest thrives by unseen hands. The ant will march, the oak will rise, Each a hymn to Obad-Hai. Your voice is thunder, wild and grand, Your touch is rain upon the land. The gnome is hidden, yet still I sing, In you I find my offering. The fern uncurls, the pinecone falls, The ivy climbs the crumbled walls. In every growth, in every sky, I see the hand of Obad-Hai. O Shalm, Green Father, fierce and free, Keeper of storm and harmony. Though I am small, my vow is high: To serve the balance of Obad-Hai. The wolf shall hunt, the stag shall flee, Yet both are blessed in mystery. No life is lost, no song denied, All is held in Obad-Hai. No crown may bind, no blade command, The cycle rests in earth and hand. In moss and stream, in sky and bough, I keep the Green Father’s vow. O Shalm, Green Father, fierce and free, Keeper of storm and harmony. Though I am small, my vow is high: My life belongs to Obad-Hai. Circle turning, leaf and loam, Spirit guiding, hearth and home. By river’s bend, by stone and sky, I cast my prayers to Obad-Hai.
