V4.5

Like parched earth cries for rain, My soul pants for You, God. When will I stand again Where Your praise rings aloud? (Stanza 2: Floods of Grief) Salt tears have been my bread, While mocking voices say: "Where's your God now?" they spread Doubt like shadows at day. (Stanza 3: Memory's Anchor) Yet I recall the feast - The crowd, the songs, the light. Why does this ache persist? O soul, hope through the night. (Refrain - repeated) "Hope in God! Praise will rise, For He is help indeed. Through dark vales, His love guides, My living Lord and need." (Stanza 4: Crashing Waves) Deep calls to deep below, Your breakers overwhelm. Still by day Your love flows, Your song my night psalm. (Stanza 5: The Unanswered Why) Must I walk bowed in grief, Oppressed by enemy scorn? O God, bring sweet relief - Why am I left forlorn? (Final Refrain - resolved) "Hope in God! Dawn will break, My Savior and my King. No more tears for His sake, New hallelujahs sing!"
