The Offense of Freedom

V5

They said freedom dangerous — “too much grace,” They scared of saints with no chains in place. They want your worship under law’s face, But grace said, “Son, I took your case.” They want control — God gave you wings, They love religion, grace dethrones kings. They want your guilt in offerings, But freedom sings where mercy rings. They hate the sound of captives free, Of sinners walking righteously. They built their throne on misery, But grace said, “That’s not victory.” They call it reckless, I call it trust, Faith ain’t fear, it’s blood and dust. They still boast in gold and lust, I boast the cross — that’s true and just. Yo, they offended when chains fall loud, When a sinner lifts hands in a crowd. They say “It can’t be,” they think too proud, But grace ain’t built for the self-endowed. Freedom scares ‘em ‘cause it’s divine, It don’t need priests to draw the line. They mad ‘cause Heaven’s redesign Tore down the walls they thought were fine. Freedom’s wild — it don’t need your check, It don’t fit law, it don’t earn respect. It breaks systems, it breaks the deck, It frees the slaves from self and sect. They say “that gospel watered down,” But it’s living water that flipped my crown. It ain’t license, it’s death renown, It’s losing me — to find Him now. They said grace weak, I said “prove me wrong,” I’ve seen the strong bow where I belong. Freedom ain’t peace — it’s war prolonged, Between what’s dead and what’s lifelong. They want rules to make them right, But grace rewrote my sleepless night. They call that dangerous — I call that sight, My chains are gone, I walk in light. Freedom ain’t “do what you please,” It’s “sin don’t own my knees.” It’s “Satan, get back, I’m free,” It’s truth breathing endlessly. They can’t stand that Spirit’s reign, ‘Cause they can’t measure holy gain. They want control, He broke the chain, Now freedom’s roaring through my brain. You can’t fake peace, can’t mimic joy, Can’t act free when flesh deploy. Grace ain’t toy — it’s heaven’s ploy, To kill the lies men still employ. Freedom’s loud — it offends the bound, They crave cages, they hate the sound. But God’s kids rise from holy ground, Chains off, grace profound. They said “You can’t preach free grace, bro,” I said “Then you don’t know what Calvary showed.” You can’t cage life, it overflowed, The tomb’s wide open, the stone got rolled. They hate it ‘cause they can’t take part, It exposes law’s hollow art. They preach fear to guard their heart, But grace speaks peace — it’s set apart. Freedom’s scandal, freedom’s fire, It burns the script of self-desire. It kills the pride, it lifts the choir, It shows the world — He’s still Messiah. They don’t get it — they built their fame, On works, not blood, on law, not Name. But I’m done playing that old game, I’m Spirit-led — not bound by shame. Freedom ain’t fiction, it’s fight and flame, It’s chains undone in Jesus’ name. You call it reckless, I call it claim, To every heart that grace reclaimed. Yeah, I’m free — and that’s offense, To men who hide behind pretense. They hate what they can’t make sense, But freedom’s truth, not false defense. So when they sneer and call it fraud, When they mock this grace of God, I’ll stand tall, dirt or sod, And say: “You’re mad ‘cause I’m free, not flawed.” Freedom ain’t license, it’s blood’s decree, Grace ain’t weakness, it’s victory. So crucify my name, let it be — I’ll die to law, but rise in Thee.
