Title: Twenty Bucks [Intro: Fast melodic skatepunk guitar, hard drums, walking bass, short brass riff] [Verse 1] Twenty bucks in my pocket That's enough for Friday night One cheap drink, two cigarettes And we're feeling pretty alright Somebody's got a busted skateboard Somebody's missing half a shoe Nobody knows whose bike that is Nobody cares, neither do you We found a parking lot We found a broken bench We found a guy named Ricky Who said he knew somebody's friend [Verse 2] The radio sounds terrible The speaker only works on one side Someone brought a deck of cards And someone else forgot the dice We played until we got bored Then we played it all again The same three songs were playing But nobody complained A cop drove slowly past us Everybody suddenly behaved He looked at us for half a second Then he kept on driving away [Chorus] Twenty bucks And a tank full of gas We didn't need much To have a pretty good time Twenty bucks And a little bit of luck We could make a whole damn weekend Out of almost nothing [Verse 3] Saturday came around Nobody had any plans Someone wanted to go downtown Someone wanted to start a band We spent an hour arguing About where we should go Then stayed exactly where we were Because nobody wanted to know The afternoon got wasted The evening disappeared We weren't looking for a good time It just somehow ended here [Pre-Chorus] No big plans No big deal Nothing waiting Nothing real [Chorus] Twenty bucks And a tank full of gas We didn't need much To have a pretty good time Twenty bucks And a little bit of luck We could make a whole damn weekend Out of almost nothing [Instrumental: Fast ska-punk guitar and bass, melodic trumpet/sax hook] [Bridge: Half-time punk] We weren't famous We weren't cool We weren't going anywhere According to the rules But we had a borrowed amp And a place to kill some time That's probably all we needed Back when twenty bucks was fine [Final Chorus: Full-speed melodic ska-punk] Twenty bucks And a tank full of gas We didn't need much To have a pretty good time Twenty bucks And a little bit of luck We could make a whole damn weekend Out of almost nothing Twenty bucks That's all we had Funny how that didn't seem so bad [Outro: Fast guitar riff with horns] Twenty bucks. Gone by Sunday.
