[Intro] [Verse 1] [Spoken] (Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world. — Ephesians 6:11 and 12) [Singing] Eyes open at 3 AM, the darkness got weight, Felt a presence in the room — this ain't something I'm safe, The enemy don't come in flesh, he comes for your mind, He'll dress up like a friend and leave destruction behind. Put on the armor piece by piece before I hit the door, Belt of Truth around my waist — I know what I stand for, Breastplate on my chest to guard this heart from lies, Helmet on my head — salvation covers what's inside. Ephesians 6 — this ain't a metaphor I'm quoting, It's a daily battle cry when the storm is overloading, We wrestle not with people — it's the powers in the air, So I'm suiting up in holy fire before I breathe a prayer. [Chorus] [Singing] Spiritual warfare — I was born for this fight, God's army rising, covered in His light, Holy fire burning every chain and every lie, Warrior angels flanking me — they fill the sky. Through the storm I'm standing, sword in hand, on my knees, Praying hard and pushing back the darkness with the creed, Righteousness my armor, truth my shield and my song — I was built for spiritual warfare all along. [Verse 2] [Spoken] (The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble. — John 10:10 · Hebrews 12:15) [Singing] The thief came to steal, to kill, and to destroy, Tried to take my peace, tried to wreck my joy, Planted seeds of bitterness inside my open wounds, Tryna grow a root of anger through the grief and gloom. But Hebrews 12, — I know that bitter root game, I won't swallow what the enemy planted in my pain, I'll uproot it in the name of Jesus, cast it out, Turn my bitterness to battle cries and holy shouts. Demons come in whispers — "God don't care about you," "Look how far you've fallen, ain't no coming back, it's true," But I take every thought captive — 2 Corinthians 10, No weapon formed against me shall prosper — say amen. [Bridge] [Spoken] (The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them. Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? — Psalm 34:7 · Hebrews 1:14) [Singing] I felt 'em in the fire — angels all around, Psalm 34 — they encamp on holy ground, Ministering spirits sent to hold the line with me, When I'm too weak to fight they fight on bended knee. So when the storm gets violent and the winds won't cease, I open up my mouth and I command the peace, The light of God inside me is a weapon and a wall — And the gates of hell shall never, ever make it fall. [Verse 3] [Spoken] (Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. — James 4:7 · 1 John 4:4 · Ephesians 6:10) [Singing] James 4:7 — submit, resist, and watch him flee, Greater is the One who lives inside of me, 1 John 4 — I stand on every word, The enemy is loud but the Lord of lords is Lord. I been praying through the midnight, praying through the grey, Through the lightning and the thunder, through the dark and the fray, Righteousness my breastplate, peace upon my feet, The shield of faith extinguishing the fiery heat. God's army don't retreat — we advance in His name, Holy fire on our tongues, we will never be the same, Every demon bows its knee at the sound of His call — We are soldiers of the light and we're standing standing tall. [Chorus (Final)] [Singing] Spiritual warfare — I was born for this fight, God's army rising, covered in His light, Holy fire burning every chain and every lie, Warrior angels flanking me — they fill the sky. Through the storm I'm standing, sword in hand, on my knees, Praying hard and pushing back the darkness with the creed, Righteousness my armor, truth my shield and my song — I was built for spiritual warfare all along. [Outro] [Singing] We don't fight alone… (never alone) Covered in His armor… (covered in His light) Don't swallow the bitterness — let the holy fire burn it out, Pray without ceasing, that's what this war's all about
