[Verse] Angels in the night sky breaking through the haze Gabriel on wings of light with a message to amaze Zechariah in the temple fear and doubt arise A promise of a child to come before the Savior's eyes [Chorus] Heaven's whisper in the air don't you be afraid John will pave the way prepare the road He made He'll turn hearts back to love in the wilderness so wild Heaven's whisper in the night soon to be a child [Verse] Silent prayers in dark and doubt shadows fall again Elisabeth will bear a son breaking dawn of men Zechariah's voice is lost until the day he's born A song of praise erupts in joy on that sacred morn [Chorus] Heaven's whisper in the air don't you be afraid John will pave the way prepare the road He made He'll turn hearts back to love in the wilderness so wild Heaven's whisper in the night soon to be a child [Bridge] In the silence of the temple truth and light revealed Holy words that mar the dark a promise now unsealed From the desert to the riverside he'll call out and proclaim Make straight the way for one who's come on holy winds of flame [Chorus] Heaven's whisper in the air don't you be afraid John will pave the way prepare the road He made He'll turn hearts back to love in the wilderness so wild Heaven's whisper in the night soon to be a child
