First Step True Love

[Verse 1] True love is the first step To understanding love You and I are meant to be A gift from God above In your hands, I found my home In your eyes, a holy light We were given one another For the day and for the night [Pre-Chorus] If love is the doorway Then mercy is the key And every prayer we whisper Brings us back to see [Chorus] Hallelujah, we are one Hallelujah, love has come God gave you to my arms God gave me to keep Hallelujah, lift it high Thanks be to God tonight This is the highest love The one we dare to give [Verse 2] Every wound can learn to trust Every heart can learn to stay When your name falls on my tongue Fear begins to fade away We were shaped for something pure Something gentle, something true Not a flame that burns and vanishes But a bond that carries through [Pre-Chorus] If love is the doorway Then mercy is the key And every prayer we whisper Brings us back to see [Chorus] Hallelujah, we are one Hallelujah, love has come God gave you to my arms God gave me to keep Hallelujah, lift it high Thanks be to God tonight This is the highest love The one we dare to give [Bridge] When the storm comes calling We will still stand fast Hand in hand before Him Making the promise last Not for pride or proving Not for gold or fame Only for the glory Of that blessed holy name [Final Chorus] Hallelujah, we are one Hallelujah, love has come God gave you to my arms God gave me to keep Hallelujah, lift it high Thanks be to God tonight This is the highest love The one we dare to give Hallelujah, we are one Hallelujah, love has come Thanks be to God forever For the love we live
