It’s the first sun of the year Hell ain’t much changed over here in a few So I woke up with the morning dew Grab my rifle and headed out for some fun I’m sitting here in the stand Looking over this beautiful land Thinking about life and how I want it to go I look over the mountains and see low clouds show Hell I don’t know how I got this far- it’s been a hell of a run I’ve made a few lost few Lost a few years in the pain But I’ve always known I had what it takes A man makes his own luck fights for a living I see a buck by the ridgeline The one I was hoping to find I clear my thoughts Quite my mind I line him up Take him down This year is gonna be a good one Full of life and love Dove, deer, and a few cold beers I’ve learned a lot over the years But one thing I know You can’t live in the past or have any fear
