This Loop Has A Lot – The West Midlands / Redditch Odyssey
(Intro – Spoken)* This loop… This loop has a lot. Buses. Trains. Wrong stops. Redditch. Rugby. And decisions that should never have been made. --- *(Verse 1 – The Familiar Broken Start)* 664 out of Southam side, Morning air and countryside, Long Itchington roads roll slow, Offchurch where the hedgerows grow. Cubbington bends then Lillington lane, North Leamington back again, Checked the app—yeah, no surprise, Stagecoach broke before my eyes. Signal dead at my usual stop, Same old story, never stops. --- *(Verse 2 – The Packed X18)* X18 down to the station way, Parish Church on the route display, Top deck full, had to sit below— That upper floor had nowhere to go. Whole coach lively, voices high, Morning rush rolling by, Dropped at Spa with time to spare— Train loop starts from there. --- *(Chorus)* This loop has a lot, more than planned, Steel wheels, tyres, routes unplanned, Every move just twists the line— Still somehow works out fine. From Southam lanes to city lights, Through stations, roads and random sights, No straight route but it aligned— This loop lives inside my mind. --- *(Verse 3 – Chiltern Value Logic)* 09:30 Chiltern glide, Class 68 hauling with pride, Seat A8 by the window frame— Explorer service, not the same. Could’ve got the earlier train, Cost a pound more for the same lane, Rail fares weird, don’t ask me why— Cheaper later, that’s the vibe. Solihull next, stepped off there— Missed the X2… standing spare. --- *(Verse 4 – The Most Pointless Bus Ever)* Then came one for the history books, A ride that wins the pointless cup. Number 6 to Solihull town… From Solihull town. Wrong stop side, wrong side road, Cross the street to where I should’ve gone. Still took it anyway, no shame— Chaos is part of the game. --- *(Verse 5 – Back to Birmingham)* Same 6 now to Brum instead, Shirley roads and Hall Green spread, Sparkhill pulse then Digbeth near— City towers start to appear. Bordesley bends and traffic grind, Another route to redraw the line. --- *(Chorus)* This loop has a lot, more than sense, Every move needs confidence, Wrong bus stops and route detours— Still opening different doors. From Solihull back into town, Then straight back out on rails inbound, No straight path but it’s all fine— This loop rewrites time. --- *(Verse 6 – Redditch Expansion Pack)* 11:43 to Redditch side, Six car set, two 730s ride, Five Ways flash and University, Bournville smell of factory. Kings Norton then Barnt Green glide, Alvechurch trees on the countryside, Redditch reached, Kingfisher mall— Walked around the shopping hall. Then 13:01 reversed the play, Same train stock the other way, Back to New Street, same six cars— Still not near where home roads are. --- *(Verse 7 – The Rugby Curveball)* 14:08, things got strange, London Northwestern changed the game, Platform confusion, two trains there— Liverpool one and Euston glare. Picked the Rugby chaos route, Eight coaches, double 350 group, International, Berkswell glide, Tile Hill, Canley, Coventry side. Then north to Rugby unexpectedly— Because more chaos suited me. --- *(Bridge – The Rush)* Rugby station, no time to think, Had to sprint for the next quick link, Number 1 to Houlton School— Miss that bus and the day looks cruel. North Street reached just in time— Still alive inside the line. --- *(Verse 8 – Full Route Commitment)* 63 to Leamington full route run, Could’ve got off Southam—didn’t, son. Dunchurch roads then Stockton lane, Southam passed then on again. Ufton bends and Radford glide, Old Town Leam on the other side. Then 15 back to station gate— Thought of Warwick… then changed fate. 67 up to Parade once more, Middle Parade like before. --- *(Final Verse – Home Stretch)* One last 63, evening call, Southam bound to finish all, Radford Semele, Ufton line, HS2 works passing by. Back where the whole thing first began— Still don’t know if this was planned. --- *(Final Chorus)* This loop has a lot, that much is true, Buses, trains, and routes askew, From Redditch malls to Rugby lines— Still came home just in time. Longest run? It might just be— A moving Midlands odyssey, No straight route but it aligned— This loop was one of a kind. --- *(Outro – Spoken)* Broken app. Pointless bus. Redditch expansion. Rugby curveball. Yeah… This loop had a lot.
