Day Two upon the Camino way, Fog wrapped softly ‘round the day. Then Andrew made his morning creed: “Please coffee first? Then I can proceed!” Mary spoke from Psalm Thirty-Seven five and Twenty , “Our Ebenezer proves God’s help is plenty.” So up we climbed through misty air, With hills on hills stacked everywhere. Lunch appeared — a glorious sight, Till Brian leaned back with all his might… His chair gave way — down to the floor! We checked he lived… then laughed some more. Lindsey worshipped through every climb, Praising God in rhythm and rhyme. Though her aching knee complained a bit, Her faithful spirit would not quit. Rosa Marie sketched fields and skies, Brandi yelled, “No splitsies!” with watchful eyes. And Havi guided, served, and fed Like Moses with a dinner spread. Bethlynn shared croquettes with grace, Then Bailey’s shots lit every face. “Salud!” we toasted, tired but glad, For holy joy the hard day had. Pilgrims say, “Buen Camino,” with style, But Phil shouts, “Camino Royale!” By evening’s glow we could not explain If we were in Tuscany or in Spain. Yet somewhere between the laughs and sore feet, God made this day rich and sweet.
