FRANK 012 – Murder at Plainpalais | Frankenstein

(Verse 1) A letter came from Geneva beneath a mourning sky, And told how little William in innocence must die. His body had been discovered where evening shadows fell, And Victor read the message like some condemning knell. (Verse 2) He journeyed home through darkness while thunder shook the plain, As lightning split the mountains and hammered down the rain. Beyond the gates of Geneva, through tempest, wind and flame, A giant shape was moving, and Victor knew its frame. (Chorus) Across the storm at Plainpalais the hidden horror strode, A living accusation on the black and flooded road. For William lay in silence where childish laughter ceased, And Victor saw his secret in the shadow of the beast. (Verse 3) The lightning showed the Creature upon the mountain height, Then darkness swallowed everything and stole him from the sight. No proof could name the killer, no witness could appear, Yet Victor felt the answer was standing cold and clear. (Verse 4) He knew the hand that fashioned life had opened death’s own door, And all his buried terror returned to him once more. But still he kept his silence and carried home his dread, While grief descended heavily upon the household dead. (Chorus) Across the storm at Plainpalais the hidden horror strode, A living accusation on the black and flooded road. For William lay in silence where childish laughter ceased, And Victor saw his secret in the shadow of the beast. (Bridge) The storm became a judgement that thundered through the night, And every flash revealed the shape that fled beyond the light. The secret he had buried now followed at his side, For murder walked behind the truth that Victor chose to hide. (Outro) The morning found Geneva beneath a shroud of grey, While William’s empty footsteps had vanished from the day. And somewhere past the city, beyond the grieving plain, The Creature disappeared into the darkness and the rain.
