Step right up and buy your ticket at the door, Follow painted arrows on the checkerboard floor. Laughter echoes heavy down a dimly lighted hall, Shadows start to flicker on the warped brick wall. Turn the heavy corner where the strobe light gleams, Deeper in the maze beneath the circus-painted beams. Smell the popcorn fading as the atmosphere turns cold, Enter through the velvet curtain, crimson-red door. Stand inside the chamber where the silver sheets align, Reflecting back your silhouette in every grand design. Glass panels stretching upward till they vanish out of view, Every angle showing off a slightly different you. Reach a hand out slowly, touch the barrier of cold, Wondering which reflection is the one you used to hold. A thousand painted smiles looking back from every side, Nowhere left to wander and nowhere left to hide. Take a step forward and the floorboards softly creak, Catch a glimpse of someone who is turning round to speak. Is it just an echo or a trick of bending light? Morphing all your features in the labyrinth of night. Tilt your head in wonder as the endless hallways blend, Mirror facing mirror till the image has no end. Infinite processions marching off into the haze, Trapped inside the geometry of endless silver glaze. Laughing at the stranger who is staring in your eye, Watching all the phantom duplicates go marching by. Step into the center where the perspectives collide, Floating in a universe where nothing can abide. Time to leave the chamber and to find the exit door, Leaving all the glass behind upon the checkerboard floor. Step back to the sunlight and the noise of streets outside, Carrying the memories of the mirrors deep and wide.
