No Other Name Can Save Us

I was lost in the darkness, dead to the light Tried to climb my way to heaven, couldn’t reach that height Every effort left me empty, every good deed fell apart Till I heard a voice of mercy speaking to my heart. No other name can save us, no other sacrifice He bore our sins and sorrows, paid the highest price Rose up from the grave, conquered death and shame Now I stand forgiven, in His holy name. No ladder high enough, no bridge I could build No good deed could ever have my debt fulfilled Then mercy came down from heaven above The cross became the measure of His forgiving love. Not by works or wisdom, not by strength of mine But by His blood shed freely, love so divine He bridged the gap between us, tore the veil in two Now I stand forgiven, made completely new. On a cross at Calvary, He bore my shame Took my sin and sorrow, gave me a new name Death could not hold Him, the tomb stands bare Now I live forgiven, forever in His care. No ladder high enough, no bridge I could build No good deed could ever have my debt fulfilled Then mercy came down from heaven above The cross became the measure of His forgiving love. Not by anything I’ve done Only by God’s precious Son His blood has washed me white as snow This gift of grace is all I know.
