Crown of the Current

V5.5

I rose where the black tide bends around the bones of mountains, crowned by pressure, fed by thunder, older than your fountains. [Bloop] I speak and every whale goes silent in the deep, while trenches hold their breath and sleeping sea gods wake from sleep. My beard is storm foam, my eyes are twin blue suns, my trident splits the current and commands a war drums. [Splash-splash] I do not walk, the ocean lifts my stride, and coral cities blaze like jewels whenever I arrive. I am Neptune, king of kingdoms no dry map can hold, where shipwrecks rot to legends and the pearls remember gold. [Glub-glub] My palace rises carved from old reef, with gates of giant clam shell and guards who never grieve. The floors are polished moonstone, the walls are living blue, with lanternfish like chandeliers that burn the whole night through. A thousand silver seahorses pull chariots through the foam, and every road of moving tide curves back toward my home. I rule with more than fury, though fury knows my name, for mercy is a current and respect is not a game. [Skrrt—splash] I shelter little creatures underneath my royal hand, but I drown the greedy tyrant who mistakes my sea for land. I have watched empires vanish like footprints near the shore, watched captains beg the heavens while I thundered at their door. My character is granite, but my judgment studies hearts; I can bless a fisher’s voyage or tear an iron fleet apart. My trident holds the language of the undertow and rain, one strike can call a hurricane, one whisper calms the main. [Whoooosh] I pull the moonlit waters like a cloak across the night, then send electric armies through the dark in streaks of light. The sharks become my sentries, the kraken hears my call, the dolphins race beside me when I cross the waterfall. [Blub-blub-blub] Leviathans bow low beneath my coral throne, because the deepest terror in the deep knows I am home. No ceiling hangs above me, only miles of rolling sea, a universe of sapphire with its own infinity. There are gardens made of anemones, bright cities made of shell, and caves where ancient echoes guard the secrets no one tells. I am not cruel for pleasure; power carries weight, and every wave I summon has to answer back to fate. A king who loves destruction is a servant to his rage, so I chain my wildest tempests till the righteous turn the page. [Splish] But test my sacred waters, poison what I keep, and I will rise colossal from the ruthless deep. My voice will shake the harbors, my shadow block the sun, and every mast will splinter before the war is done. Still, I know the quiet places where the newborn turtles rise, where sunlight falls in columns like the mercy of the skies. [Plink-plink] I listen to the songs the lonely humpbacks send, and guide them through the darkness till their wandering journeys end. I cradle broken sailors who show courage without pride, and push their shattered lifeboats toward the mercy of the tide. A ruler is not mighty just because the weak obey; he proves it by protecting those the storm would sweep away. So when you hear the surf pound heavy after dark, when green lightning crowns the clouds and wakes the sleeping shark, [Swishhh] know I am patrolling every border of my realm, with ancient hands of ocean wrapped around the cosmic helm. The abyss is not empty; it is breathing with my will, every current bears my fingerprint, every reef obeys me still. I am Neptune, salt-blood monarch, storm-forged and supreme, the throne beneath all thrones, the king inside the dream. [Bloop—splash—glub] Let the sailors speak my title with respect, let the proud inspect the horizon and consider what comes next. I am justice in the tempest, I am patience in the blue, I am every hidden depth that mortal vision never knew. The sea is not my kingdom like a field beneath a crown; the sea and I are one force, and neither can bow down. [Woooosh—bubble—crash] From the surface to the floor, I reign forever, Neptune, and the ocean is my roar.
