Genesis Chapter 10 (Encore)
[Verse 1 – Sons of Japheth] These are the sons after the flood, From Noah’s line the nations come. Japheth’s children spread abroad, Across the coastlands under the sun. Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, Tiras nigh. From them the isles and peoples grew, Each in their tongues, their lands, their crews. [Chorus] From the sons of Noah, the earth was filled, Tribes and tongues by God’s own will. Names became nations, far and wide, Under heaven’s eye, the world was tied. [Verse 2 – Sons of Ham] Cush and Mizraim, Put and Canaan, From Ham’s line came kingdoms standin’. Cush begot Nimrod, mighty and proud, A hunter before the Lord, renowned. He built Babel, Erech, and Accad’s plains, In Shinar’s land, he carved his name. Out of that land Asshur came, Built Nineveh, a city of fame. Mizraim’s sons spread in might, Ludim, Anamim, Pathrusim in sight, And from Canaan’s line the borders spread, Sidon firstborn, Heth next led. Jebusite, Amorite, Girgasite known, Their borders reached to Sidon’s zone. [Chorus] From the sons of Noah, the earth was filled, Tribes and tongues by God’s own will. Names became nations, far and wide, Under heaven’s eye, the world was tied. [Bridge – Sons of Shem] To Shem were born, the elder brother, Of Eber’s line, unlike the other. Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad too, Lud and Aram the family grew. From Arphaxad came Salah’s name, Then Eber, where “Hebrew” came. Two sons Eber had, divided lands, Peleg and Joktan by God’s own hands. Joktan’s sons from east did roam, From Mesha’s hills to Sephar’s home. All these dwelt where the desert sings, Under the spread of their ancient wings. [Final Chorus] From the sons of Noah, the earth was filled, By tribe and tongue as God had willed. From mountains high to ocean’s foam, Each found a land, each found a home. [Outro] These are the clans, by nation and tongue, From Noah’s sons the earth was young. And from their seed, through time begun, The world was divided — three from one.
