Oh gather ‘round, you merry fools, and hear the wondrous tale, Of pilgrims from across the land who followed fruit by trail, For shining in the desert dust, atop a noble llama, Was floating like a neon torch — The Holy Bethlehem Banana! Banana-lu-jah! Banana-lay-hee! Blessed be the fruit that set the pilgrims free, Banana-lu-jah! Oh taste and see — The sacred snack of destiny! They knelt before its peel so bright, its glow so truly weird, A monk declared, “I had a dream — the prophecy appeared!” Another said, “I think it spoke… or maybe that was Fred.” But all agreed its holiness Was not just in their head. Banana-lu-jah! Banana-lay-hee! The cosmic fruit of cosmic energy, Banana-lu-jah! Now bend the knee — For potassium spirituality! And then it sang a carol (As bananas sometimes do), A tune so sweetly fruity That the stars turned yellow too, It wiggled in its cradle With a soft and holy thump — And every time it wiggled, It cured someone of the grump. Now people travel far and wide to glimpse its sacred glow, They whisper to its peel in hopes their worries come and go, And every Christmas morning, folks shout loud across the land: “Behold the Holy Banana! (It’s a miracle… but also quite a brand.)” Banana-lu-jah! Banana-lay-hee! Praise the fruit that saved humanity, Banana-lu-jah! Now shout with glee — Long live the Banana of Bethlehem! (And pass the custard, please.)
