Lyrics by Valgrind for Iron Legacy. A tribute to Iron Maiden. The kings of Heavy Metal. 🤘 [Intro - mysterious] Night falls over Egypt… The desert wind is rising… Something ancient… Is waking again. [Verse 1] Moonlight falls across the sand Darkness covers the ancient land Deep below the desert stone Old forgotten powers grow Thunder rolls across the plain Lightning cuts the sky again From the tombs a shadow flies The falcon god begins to rise [Pre-Chorus] Feel the desert shaking Hear the ancient call Tonight the gods awaken Tonight the heavens fall [Chorus] In the Valley of the Kings As the desert storm arrives Horus rises, Set returns Ancient powers come alive In the Valley of the Kings! In the Valley of the Kings! [Verse 2] Horus circles through the sky Set is waiting down below Storm and lightning fill the night As the ancient rivals fight Sand is turning in the air Thunder rolling everywhere Once before they fought for power Now they meet again this hour [Pre-Chorus] Feel the desert shaking Hear the ancient call Tonight the gods awaken Tonight the heavens fall [Chorus] In the Valley of the Kings As the desert storm arrives Horus rises, Set returns Ancient powers come alive In the Valley of the Kings! In the Valley of the Kings! [Bridge] Horus above Set on the ground Thunder and fire All around One ancient battle One endless fight The gods of Egypt… Return tonight! [Guitar solo] [Verse 3] Dawn is breaking in the east Still the gods refuse to cease Neither one will turn away As darkness slowly turns to day Then the storm begins to die Horus vanishes into the sky Set returns beneath the sand Silence falls across the land [Final Chorus] In the Valley of the Kings As the desert storm arrives Horus rises, Set returns Ancient powers come alive In the Valley of the Kings! In the Valley of the Kings! [Final Chorus] In the Valley of the Kings As the desert storm arrives Horus rises, Set returns Ancient powers come alive In the Valley of the Kings! In the Valley of the Kings! Lyrics by Valgrind.
