I liked the idea that your mind is like a broken little seashell phone – the second things get quiet, it starts playing old voicemails you did not ask to hear again. The late-night “I miss you”s, the drunk apologies, the “I’ve changed, I swear” speeches… all of it on a loop, like a bad remix. At first it feels like this person still has a hold on you, but the more you listen, the more you realize it’s actually you keeping the line open. You’re the one replaying it, you’re the one not hanging up. The song is that moment where you finally put the shell down, put your phone on Do Not Disturb, and kind of laugh at yourself like, “Okay, I’m done. Bad connection, I’m good, bye.” It’s a sad song, but it’s also a tiny little victory. Like crying in your bedroom and then realizing you’re actually kind of proud of yourself. 🐚📵 Anyway… bad connection, I’m good, bye. 🤭 – Lumen Mei Yue
