V6

[Verse 1] Morning finds me sitting on my bed, With all the words I wish I’d never said. My mistakes come walking down the hall; Some days I still make room for them all. I wash my face and meet my tired eyes, Still searching for a purpose in this life. Something underneath the weight I bear Keeps asking me to rise and meet the air. [Pre-Chorus] I don’t know where this road will bend. I put my feet beneath me once again. [Chorus] So I take another step, With the questions I have left. I breathe, I listen, try to understand. God, if You can hear me, Meet me where I am. I haven’t found my way through yet, But I can take another step. [Verse 2] I thought by now that faith would feel like peace, But some nights all I do is disagree. I bring You all my anger and my doubt, The things I’m still afraid to say out loud. I know there are apologies I owe, And parts of me I’m learning to outgrow. I cannot change the years already gone; I have this day to do some good upon. [Pre-Chorus] No sudden answer written in the sky, Just breath enough to stand and try. [Chorus] So I take another step, With the questions I have left. I breathe, I listen, try to understand. God, if You can hear me, Meet me where I am. I haven’t found my way through yet, But I can take another step. [Brief Instrumental Build] [Bridge — stripped back] I called my isolation strength; It helped me make it through. Then the silence grew so heavy, I could barely move. Tonight, I leave the curtains open, Let the evening reach the floor. If someone asks me how I’m doing, I might say a little more. [Final Chorus — full, heartfelt] So I take another step, With the questions I have left. I breathe, I listen, try to understand. God, I’m still here searching, With an open, trembling hand. I haven’t found my way through yet, But I can take another step. And if somebody walks beside me, I can let them share the road. I’m still learning how to trust With all these things I’ve never told. [Outro — quiet piano] I breathe. I listen. The morning isn’t here just yet. I set my shoes beside the bed— Tomorrow, Another step.
