[Verse 1] Sheldon woke up in his own sleeping bag, hanging in zero‑G. He had one beaute of a headache, and a lot of unanswered questions. After he dressed, he went straight to where he knew he would find the Doctor, the observatory. [chorus] He came for answers, nothing but questions found. The man he had come to destroy, was the only one that he could trust. for the first time, it felt like he was standing on solid ground. in deepest space, sometime your attitudes adjust. He came for answers, nothing but questions found. [Verse 2] He entered quietly, though he knew he couldn't hide his entry. There he was, sitting making adjustments and jotting notes, listening through headphones to whoever was talking to him. He didn't act like he had noticed Sheldon enter. Instead, he was intent on whatever he was listening to. [chorus] He came for answers, nothing but questions found. The man he had come to destroy, was the only one that he could trust. for the first time, it felt like he was standing on solid ground. in deepest space, sometime your attitudes adjust. He came for answers, nothing but questions found. [Verse 3] Sheldon stepped up, put the other headphones on, staring out into the nothing he had been surrounded by moments before. All he could hear was radio static. Then, faintly, he heard a voice. Then he heard another. It was ordinary radio traffic, only,--- they were using references that he couldn't make out. It was fascinating, almost as if they were selling something. [chorus] He came for answers, nothing but questions found. The man he had come to destroy, was the only one that he could trust. for the first time, it felt like he was standing on solid ground. in deepest space, sometime your attitudes adjust. He came for answers, nothing but questions found. [Verse 4] "It's radio traffic," he heard the Doctor say, "from somewhere in the mid to late 1900's...from Earth." Sheldon's eyes widened. "We're out here so far," the Doctor continued, "that only now the signal is reaching us. This is, for all intents and purposes,-- history,-- alive." [Bridge] "This is incredible," was all Sheldon could say. Most of what he was hearing was gibberish, it didn't make sense. "And it's nothing like the history that's being taught, Sheldon. I had to hide this from your predecessor. If they knew that this is what I've been listening to, they'd try to shut me down." [outro] Sheldon was seeing it now. The old man wasn't talking to anyone. Over 20 years He had just listened, and taken notes. Suddenly Sheldon felt a lot better about this assignment He still had one problem. He only had thirty days left to re‑learn history. Maybe he could get an extension? [repeating and fading] He came for answers...(answers) He came for answers...(answers) He came for answers...(answers) He came for answers... Nothing but questions found.
