13 - Wings of Freedom

I SPREAD MY WINGS OF FREEDOM!!! NO PERMISSION… FROM THE SKY!! There’s dust stuck on my shoes And a map I never used Doors creaking in the past But none of them led me through I tore apart the calendars Owing no more time to anyone The world fits in the distance Between who I was and what’s to come If the ground slips from my feet Let it go — I won’t fall down There’s a storm inside my chest And it’s pulling me right now… I spread my wings of freedom No permission from the sky If the risk becomes my truth Let it burn, let it rise!! No direction drawn ahead No name to hold me down Just the weightless road beneath me And the courage to get lost Voices trapped inside the walls Saying “stay, you’ll be alright” But I learned it in the dark Uncertainty is my drive These hands are not for chains Not a promise I will stay I’m a curve across the horizon No one else can ever trace If fear tries calling out my name I’ll pick up — then make it wait ’Cause the ones who taste the infinite Never fit inside a shape… I spread my wings of freedom No permission from the sky If the risk becomes my truth Let it burn, let it rise!!
