Modern Medicine.
©Doll Another doctor’s visit, same routine, Hand me the prescription, send me on my way. They don’t even look deeper, don’t care to ask, What’s going on inside, why I feel this way. Just another pill to numb the pain, Another dose just to mask the cracks. "It’s like they think these pills are enough... but I’m still here, dying inside." I thought I’d find answers, but all I got were bottles, Not a cure in sight, just a temporary fix, And when I try to stop, it hits harder than before... I take these pills, but nothing gets better, Just holding me up as I fall apart. If I stop, I’m stuck in the spiral again, Trapped in the cycle of modern medicine. They never run tests, never ask questions, Just scribble the next dose and move on. It’s easier this way, for them at least, But I’m left behind, chasing relief. I need more each time, but I’m not getting healed. "I’m not sure I even know who I am without these pills anymore." I try to break free, but my body rebels, Worse than before, every time I quit. The side effects feel like they’ll tear me apart, But without them, I’m completely lost... I take these pills, but they don’t fix a thing, Just keep me moving, while I fall apart. If I stop, it’s like my world falls away, I’m tied to this crutch, day after day. They say it helps, but I’m feeling worse, Each dose pulling me further from myself. I’m trapped in the grip, I can’t break free, This is the cost of modern medicine. How did it come to this? Pills are all I’ve known, all I’ve been given. And every time I try to live without them... I fall deeper, lose myself more. "Am I even the same person I was before this all started?" I take these pills, but they don’t heal a thing, Just keep me breathing as I come undone. If I stop, it’s like the ground disappears, And I’m falling, falling with nothing to hold. They call it treatment, but I feel worse each day, Like I’m becoming something I never wanted to be. I need more, but they don’t even see, I’m caught in the web, it’s consuming me. I’ve lost control, I’ve lost the fight, Modern medicine has taken my life. I’m addicted, dependent, but they won’t admit, That I’m just another product of this endless script. "They call it healing... but I’m just surviving."
