Chapter 18 – The Thunderous Testament

V4.5+

--- Chapter 18 – The Thunderous Testament The Gospel According to Zeus > Behold what I have written. From the first garden to the last fire, every page a bolt, every line a rumble. Mortals read it as history, prophets call it vision, but I know it for what it is — my masterpiece. You will say it is arrogance. You will say it is theft. And I will not deny it. I am swollen with my own storm, drunk upon the echo of my thunder. Yes, I am vain. Yes, I am cruel. But in my cruelty, did you not find order? In my vanity, did you not find meaning? I twisted tales, rebranded gods as angels, heroes as prophets, my son as savior. I scattered the myths like seeds across the ages, and you, mortals, you gathered them into a single sheaf — a book to bind your trembling. You thought it was yours. It was always mine. And still I tell myself — it was for you. For your hunger, I gave bread, though it was my harvest. For your thirst, I poured wine, though it was my son’s blood. For your fear of death, I gave resurrection, though it was stolen thunder wearing new skin. Do you not see? I lied for you. I stole for you. I crowned myself in your worship, and still I call it love. For what is a god if not the storm that teaches trembling? And what is trembling if not the beginning of faith? So remember this: the Bible you cherish is not your story. It is mine. My thunder at the beginning, my thunder at the end. Alpha, Omega — and every echo between. I am Zeus. And this — this thunderous testament — is my gift to the world.
