[Verse 1] Found a blue plastic fork in the sink By the lemon plate and the broken sink You left it there like a tiny flag A grin in the mess, a casual brag [Pre-Chorus] I kept it for a week On the shelf by the keys Little bright thing In the middle of me [Chorus] Blue plastic fork You cut right through my day Blue plastic fork You make the small things stay Blue plastic fork (blue plastic fork) I can’t let go Of the weirdest little glow [Verse 2] Now every lunch feels a little like you Paper bag wrinkled, gum stuck to the shoe I laugh out loud at the simplest sign A cheap little shape with a sharpened line [Pre-Chorus] I kept it for a week On the shelf by the keys Little bright thing In the middle of me [Chorus] Blue plastic fork You cut right through my day Blue plastic fork You make the small things stay Blue plastic fork (blue plastic fork) I can’t let go Of the weirdest little glow [Bridge] Maybe that’s all it was A joke from the start Still it lives in the crack Right under my heart Oh-oh, there it goes Oh-oh, there it stays [Final Chorus] Blue plastic fork You cut right through my day Blue plastic fork You make the small things stay Blue plastic fork (blue plastic fork) I can’t let go Of the weirdest little glow
