Golden: Give it Room to Change Shape

Five days beneath the Colorado sky, fourteen clinicians came from far and wide. Jessica gathered, Erin helped us land, Martin crossed from London, Interweaves in hand. From London to the Rockies, we came to learn and grow, to attend to our own process and notice what begins to show. There are ways the body remembers before the story finds a name, a tightening before the feeling, an old protection taking shape again. Shock can leave its architecture, affect can meet an armored place. We give the process time and attention, and changing shape is given space. A shoulder may discover movement, a jaw may change its old refrain. Attend to head and body relationship, and notice what begins to change. Give it room to change shape, give it room to unfold. Stay with orienting, tension and shock, and the affect beginning to show. Attend beneath the narrative, close to what emerges inside. When bracing blocks the process, an Interweave may meet it in the DBR line. Interweave, attune, observe, give the sequence room to show. Golden in the Rockies, there are deeper ways to know. Superior colliculus catches the shift, orienting begins to show. Attention follows what is emerging, slow enough to watch it go. Orienting, tension, shock and affect, attending as they come. Staying close to the sequence, following what the system does. When bracing blocks the process, when armoring holds against the shock, when affect meets contraction and the unfolding seems to stop, an AT Interweave may enter, precise and carefully timed, giving space for changing shape, then returning to the DBR line. By Day Four, the Rockies have opinions. The sternum has filed paperwork. The jaw wants representation. The shoulders are reconsidering several long-standing contracts. And fourteen therapists discover: changing shape is apparently a group activity. Give it room to change shape, give it room to unfold. Orienting, tension, shock and affect, attend to what begins to show. Interweave, attune, observe, follow carefully and slow. Golden in the foothills, there are deeper ways to know. And then there is Attunement, something deeper than technique, a widening field of attention, another way to meet. Fourteen clinicians turned toward process, attending closely from within, opening the Attunement field for the work they carry in. Making space for subtle changes, for what might easily be missed, learning greater precision in how we notice and assist. And Martin, you crossed from London to the Colorado sun, bringing Alexander understanding into the DBR work begun. Teaching Interweaves with precision where bracing interrupts the flow, where armoring blocks against the shock, or affect has nowhere left to go. No predetermined outcome, no prescribing where to move, but attending to organization, giving changing shape some room. Sometimes something very small, noticed at precisely the right place, opens possibility in the process where a block had taken space. Jessica, thank you for the container, for the thousand things unseen. Erin, thank you for your care behind each moment in between. Workshops don't appear from mountain air, whatever Colorado postcards claim. Someone moves a thousand pieces and somehow remembers every name. Here's to Jessica. Here's to Erin. Here's to fourteen who answered the call. Here's to Martin crossing an ocean, and the learning shared by all. Give it room to change shape, give the process room to run. Orienting, tension, shock and affect, attended one by one. When bracing blocks the sequence, when armoring holds the gate, an Interweave can meet that moment, precisely timed, with space. Interweave, attune, observe, return to what begins to show. Golden in the Rockies, there are deeper ways to know. When we leave these mountains and ordinary life resumes, take the spaciousness of Golden into clinics, screens and rooms. Carry curiosity to the bracing. Carry attention toward the shock. Listen underneath the armoring. Notice where the process stops. Give it room. Give it attention. Give it time. Golden, Colorado. Five days. Fourteen clinicians. Taking their Transformation home. And considerably more nervous-system activity than the brochure mentioned. Give it room to change shape.
