Incantatio Lupina

Incantatio Lupina, as recorded in the Codex Bestiae Lunae, is an act of transmutation. A human is reshaped into wolf-form, under the direct influence of the moon and the Codex’s incantations. The ritual requires a full moon, as well as that the participant has passed the Howl of the Moon Ritual. Upon completion of Incatatio Lupina, the participant emerges fully wolfed and the connection to the lunar cycle has begun. From that moment onward the transformed individual is bound to the rhythm of the moon. Each full moon acts as a catalyst for the inevitable transformation, compelling the body and spirit to shift into werewolf-form. The opening acts is a ceremonial invocation calling the Bestarium into the ritual. Blood and shadow, "sanguis et umbra", are offered as mediums. The call “Lupus surgat!” signals the summoning of the wolf-spirit. The chorus cements the transformation, invoking lunar dominion, "Luna imperat". The call-and-response acts as a ritual reinforcement, binding the participant’s blood and fury to the rite. The bridge represents the participant’s acceptance of the wolf-spirit. The repeated chant draws energy from the moon and the pack’s ancestral essence, calling the participant fully into the wolf identity. The closing affirms that the ritual is complete. Darkness reigns, "nox est plena", the wolf walks in place of man, the Codex’s power is fully unleashed, and the earth itself trembles, "terra tremit", beneath the primal energy released.
