Lyrics written and owned by Echo Grove Music. ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☽ ✩ ☾ ⋆⁺₊⋆ [Verse 1] The dawn broke red on the raven's wing Before the horns of war would blow I threw the runes, I read the signs They came back with an error code [Verse 2] I climbed the crag where the eagles nest I saw the omens, I watched the skies The clouds arranged in a tongue unknown Saying, "you have a glitch in the matrix" [Chorus] Something is wrong with the world of the gods The threads of fate are frayed today I call for prophecy, I call for blood And the world answers in a foreign way [Verse 3] I raised my axe, I screamed my pain I called on Thor with a warrior's cry The gods laughed back in lightning strikes Then a still voice said, "please stand by" [Verse 4] I bled a goat on the sacred stone The fire hissed, the smoke rose grey The völva gazed into the flame And whispered, "session ends today" [Chorus] Something is wrong with the world of the gods The ravens will not fly to me I call for prophecy, I call for blood And the sky sends static back to me [Bridge] I sang the songs my father sang I chanted true, spoke with intent The wind returned an empty sound It said, "your prayer could not be sent" [Outro, Spoken, quiet and resigned] This does not bode well... The signs are strange, the sky is wrong I might as well go home
