Many Parts (Romans 12: 4-8)

[VERSE 1 — start spoken then shift to singing] Our bodies have many parts, Each part has its special work, So it is with Christ—one body, Different functions, great worth. We belong to Him together, And we belong to one another too— Not the same, but still united, Every part a gift to use. [PRE-CHORUS] No comparing, no competing— Grace has placed you where you are. Every role is something holy, Every member matters. [CHORUS] One body in Christ Many parts, one life Different gifts, same grace Different work, same praise We belong, we belong Side by side, we are one One body in Christ And every part matters We belong, we belong Side by side, we are one One body in Christ And every part matters [VERSE 2 — spoken or rap (gifts roll-call)] In His grace, He gave gifts— So use what you’ve been given. If prophecy, speak it in faith. If serving, serve it up. If teaching, tell the truth. If encouragement, speak life. If giving, let go generously. If leading, lead with grace. If showing mercy, do it cheerfully— Let love be the way we shine. [PRE-CHORUS] No comparing, no competing— Grace has placed you where you are. Every role is something holy, Every member matters. [CHORUS] One body in Christ Many parts, one life Different gifts, same grace Different work, same praise We belong, we belong Side by side, we are one One body in Christ And every part matters [BRIDGE — sing the bridge] I don’t have to be everything To be something here I don’t have to chase a spotlight To be sincere You put us in this body So we rise and we remain Different callings, one Spirit— Grace running through our veins [SPOKEN WORD — scripture spoken (word-for-word, NLT)] Just as our bodies have many parts, and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. Romans 12:4–6 [FINAL CHORUS — bigger] One body in Christ Many parts, one life Different gifts, same grace Different work, same praise We belong, we belong Side by side, we are one One body in Christ And every part matters We belong, we belong Side by side, we are one One body in Christ And every part matters
