Parking the Altima
(Verse 1) The day was bright, the sun was high, As I drove my Nissan Altima by. A narrow spot, my only chance, But little did I know of the parking dance. (Verse 2) The lines were drawn, so slim and so mean, A space so narrow, it could barely be seen. The cars on each side, so close and so bold, Left little room for the Altima to hold. (Chorus) Does anyone know where a small car can go When the parking is tight, and the tension is slow? The Altima steered, with a cautious guide, In search of a space where it could reside. (Verse 3) I turned the wheel, inching ahead, Sweat on my brow, and a feeling of dread. The mirrors were tucked, the tires hugged the line, But fitting this car would take all of my time. (Verse 4) The left side scraped, a terrible sound, As metal met metal, the echo profound. But onward I pushed, determined to fit, Though every move made my stomach twist. (Verse 5) A final push, the car was in place, But the marks on the side told of the chase. I opened the door, but it wouldn’t swing wide, Trapped in my car, nowhere to hide. (Verse 6) I climbed through the window, made my escape, But the sight of my car, a sight I could not shape. Scratches and dents, the price that I paid, For a narrow spot, and a parking charade. (Verse 7) The lesson was learned, the scars left to show, That sometimes it's best to let that small space go. For the Altima fought, but in the end, The parking spot claimed it, like an unyielding friend. (Outro) So heed this tale of the parking quest, When the space is tight, it's often best, To circle around, find a spot more wide, And save your car from the battle inside.
