[WIP] Light We Cannot See
[Verse 1 — low, sparse, Phrygian longing] The night is heavy, The world holds its breath, Deserts are waiting For life out of death. A whisper trembles Along the barren stones— “Prepare the way,” The Holy nearness groans. [Pre-Chorus— tension rises, still unresolved] O God of promise, Hidden yet so near— We walk in shadows But your dawn draws here. [Chorus— still minor, still aching, Advent not Christmas] Come, O Light we cannot see, Break the chains of unbelief. In the silence, set us free— Come, Emmanuel. Not in triumph yet to be, But in holy mystery: Hope in darkness, let it be— Come, Emmanuel. [Verse 2— prophetic edge, John the Baptist energy] The crooked valleys Are yearning to rise; The proud made humble, The blind lifted eyes. A flame is calling From Jordan’s rugged shore— “Turn from your night, The kingdom’s at the door.” [Pre-Chorus 2] O God of mercy, Waiting in the wings— Speak through the stillness As creation sings. [Bridge — one step of brightness, not major yet] We bear the ache, We hold the wait, We sing the promise at the gate. Not yet glory, Not yet day— But still we cry, “Prepare the way!” [Chorus — repeat]
