--- Threw in some "World Beats" in this one to change up the vibe and style just a bit. I like the way it worked out and the overall cadence of the music and vocals. Song is about essentially sleepwalking through work and the moment that end of day happens, you get a boost of energy to make the night something memorable. Oh to be young and reckless again . . . lol. Worked out to be a fun song and really nice rhythm to groove to. ~David --- [Musical Introduction] [Clock ticks, office ambience, muffled beat underneath] [Verse 1] Alarm clock dragging, coffee on repeat, Typing in a rhythm just to get through the week. Meetings blur together, same old daylight grind, But I got a little secret ticking in my mind. Five o’clock freedom, bag hits the floor, Heels go on, I’m someone else once I’m out that door. Yeah the day gets my patience, the night gets my soul, When the clock hits zero — I lose control. [Pre-Chorus] Sleepwalking through the daylight, eyes half closed, But when the sun goes down — that’s when I glow. I don’t need rest, I don’t need calm, I just need bass when the lights come on. [Chorus] After work — second wind, Dead all day but I’m alive again. Clock me out, turn it up, let it spin, We’re dancing ‘til the morning sneaks back in. After work — second wind, Romancing the night like it’s happening again. Roll in late with just enough time, To change my clothes and toe the line. [Verse 2 — Melodic Rap] Yeah I clock in tired, clock out wired, Battery low but my soul’s on fire. Inbox full, head on mute, But my heart beats loud when the lights go blue. From spreadsheets to strobe lights, same hustle, new scene, I don’t just work for a living — I live in between. Flirting with the night, dancing with fate, I’ll sleep when the sun says “it’s getting too late.” [Musical Interlude] [Music Solo] [Pre-Chorus] I don’t waste my nights saving energy, Daytime me don’t recognize night-time me. When the beat drops, I reset my head, Tomorrow’s a problem for the version of me in bed. [Bridge] Neon veins, city breath, Every beat steals what sleep I’ve left. I don’t need much, just one more song, One more moment where I belong. [Musical Interlude] [Music Solo] [Final Chorus] After work — second wind, Call it reckless, call it medicine. We burn it bright ‘cause the night’s our friend, Living the dream till the daylight wins. After work — second wind, Yeah we do it all and we’ll do it again. Sleepwalk the day, come alive at night, Same grind tomorrow — tonight’s mine. [Outro] [Clock ticks return, beat fades, whispered] Yeah… I’ll sleep later. [Musical Ending] [Fade Out] [End]
