James Webb Space Telescope, I thank you for what you’ve done for me, Given me a glimpse into the heavens To see things that even David could not see. In the days when he penned that timeless psalm The heavens declare what our great God has done, He could never have imagined there would come a day When all of God’s children could joyfully say, We have now seen beyond the stars, Into galaxies created both near and far, With eyes fixed on images of all God has done, We stand in awe of the Holy One. As the world looks at the same things we view Giving praise to the creation is the best they can do, But we, with privileged eyes meant to see Stand in awe of our great God, Creator of eternity. So let us rejoice in the mercy we’ve received, From our mighty God, His grace to believe If not for His kindness giving hearts that are new Giving praise to the creation would be all we could do.
