Verse 1 Let me tell you ’bout a guy My friend used to know He was already broken, She just didn’t know How deep it went ’Til he pulled her close Introduced her to a friend They called him snow Said he was in the mood To ruin a life or two She let his trouble in, Didn’t know what it’d do Broken blue eyes, Looked at her and lied Said he’d love her forever If she’d try it just this time ⸻ Chorus But let me tell you something, If you’ve got the time Lovers don’t do that to their lovers, Not even one time ’Cause one time’s already too many, Too many crossed that line Yeah lovers don’t do that to lovers, Even one time ⸻ Verse 2 That blue-eyed boy’s got A heart split in two A crooked little smile Hiding broken truths Every game he plays, He already knows the end He lies to get his way, Even when he can’t stay in His “I love yous” came With consequences she couldn’t see He warned her from the start He was just playing a part Inside a sick little game, She ignored every sign Played along anyway, Thought she’d be the exception this time ⸻ Chorus But let me tell you something, If you’ve got the time Lovers don’t do that to their lovers, Not even one time ’Cause one time’s already too many, Too many crossed that line Yeah lovers don’t do that to lovers, Even one time ⸻ Bridge Now he goes around Breaking hearts he finds She was just a secret In a closet with no light Pushed out of his life Over “just one time” If she’d known the truth, She never would’ve crossed that line ⸻ Evolved Final Chorus (IMPORTANT) Final Chorus So let me tell you something, If you’ve got the time Lovers don’t do that to their lovers— That’s the warning sign ’Cause one time turns to damage, And damage don’t rewind Yeah lovers don’t do that to lovers, And now she knows why ⸻ Outro He wasn’t just a lover Or a friend passing through He was everything wrapped in sin, And the truth still hurts her too
