You trusted hearts and trusted words, believed the wounded and unheard. And when you saw somebody fall, you'd raise your voice and risk it all. You wore no armor we could see, but God, you fought so fearlessly. And every scar beneath your skin became another fight to win. But even iron bends someday, when every battle takes its toll. And even lions close their eyes when they have fought too long alone. So rest now, my mighty aunt, you don't have to fight tonight. Lay down your armor, close your eyes, you've carried it your whole damn life. The battle's done, the noise is gone, but every fire you lit burns on. And though your voice has left this earth, the lion still roars in those you stirred. The hyenas gathered in their packs, they snarled and circled at your back. You never learned to turn away, you faced them down another day. You saw the destination clear and charged ahead despite the fear. Sometimes the rocks beneath the sea were things you simply couldn't see. And when your ship was torn apart, I'd help you gather every shard. We'd curse the storm, we'd make things right, then you would rise again and fight. So rest now, my mighty aunt, you don't have to fight tonight. Lay down your armor, close your eyes, you've carried it your whole damn life. The battle's done, the noise is gone, but every fire you lit burns on. And though your voice has left this earth, the lion still roars in those you stirred. You weren't made for quiet ground, you ran toward every warning sound. Where someone weaker stood alone, you made their battle your own. Perhaps you trusted far too much, believed too deeply, gave too much. And every time that trust was torn, another piece of faith was gone. Until so few were left inside the walls you built where trust could hide. And somehow, near the very end, you still chose me, your trusted friend. I wish you'd called me one more time. I wish I'd somehow seen the signs. I'd search the wreckage like before and try to bring you back once more. But this was one I couldn't mend. And all that's left for me to do is keep the trust you placed in me and carry something on from you. No more battles. No more screams. No more shattered hopes and dreams. No more armor. No more pain. No more standing in the rain. Sleep now, my Panzer Aunt. - I'll take it from here. So rest now, my mighty aunt, you don't have to fight tonight. Lay down your armor, close your eyes, you've carried it your whole damn life. And if the hyenas gather still, the lions will remember you. For every soul you helped stand tall now carries something strong and true. The battle's done, but not your flame. The world still carries what you gave. One lion falls, yet others rise, with something of her fire inside. So farewell, my dear Panzer Aunt.
