The Tale of a Tail They’ll Trail

V4.5

[Intro] Here's a tale about a tail they'll trail [Verse 1] In a teeter-top town near a thistle-thin trail, Tiptoed a piper with a tangled-tail tale. Tail tied tight in a tassel-wrapped twirl, Tapped on tambourines, spun like a swirl. Telltale twist in a triple-turn twitch, Tugged through tunnels with a tinker-stitch glitch. Tuned up tales on a treetop scale, Till tattlers trailed that trailing tail. [Verse 2] The tail told tales that the townsfolk feared, Trickling through teacups and toppling beer. Tapped tin tacks on a tabletop rail, Twanged ten tunes on a turtle’s toenail. Mice marched mad with a murmured moan, Minding no map, no milestone, no phone. “Where he trails, we tail, no fail!” They yelped through yawn, through storm and hail. [Verse 3] That trail of tail took a tangled turn, Through tally-stick stacks and a taxman's urn. Teeth-chipped tiles and a tumbleweed veil, Tales got thick where the truth derailed. Tail on the rail and a sail in the gale, Tip of the twist hit a tin-roofed jail. Mice got muddled, mid-march, mid-wail, Still stuck to the track of that tailbound trail. [Verse 4] Tail-spun syllables slipping through snares, Trapped in a tempo of twitches and flares. Twilight tap dance, twisted in scale, Taproot truth in a tapestry pale. They trailed him down to a teacup town, Through toothpick doors and a toffee crown. His tail split air like a serpent sail, A slapstick script on a stammering rail. [Verse 5] Twelve thousand toes in a tangle of trails, Tails chasing tail like a folklore fail. Whiskers twitching with a tick-tick tell, All tied tight to a tailbound spell. Couldn’t curtail what the caper unveiled, Couldn’t inhale ‘fore the focus derailed. And the piper piped with a pirouette flail, Still spinning the tale of the tail they’d trail. [Outro: Spoken] And that… was the tale of the tail they’d trail. They followed the twist, the twitch, the tune, Till left in a loop by a loony loon. Was there a moral? A message? A map? Or just a rhythm-rigged, rhyme-twisting trap? Well… If you can still speak, then you passed the test. But if your tongue’s tangled… That’s the piper’s jest.
