The Foundation of What Did God Say?

Where the name, the mission, and the transformation begin.

What Did God Say?™—WDGS—is more than a name. It is the foundation of my ministry, coaching, books, teaching, podcast, social media, and everything I pour into the lives of others.

Although my ministry and coaching work formally began taking shape in 2017, as a registered Non-profit organization. the phrase “What Did God Say?” was birthed in my spirit in 2008.

During that season, when I shared what I believed God was saying concerning someone’s situation, people sometimes responded as though I was simply telling them what Alfreda thought they should do.

So I went to God in prayer.

I asked Him how I could assist people without my words being mistaken for merely my personal opinion.

And the answer that came to me through the Holy Spirit was simple:

“Instead of telling people what Alfreda says, tell them: What Did God Say?”

Those words changed everything. forever going forward.

I understood that when assisting someone through a situation, the foundation should not simply be what I think, what I would do, or what somebody else thinks.

The foundation should be:W.D.G.S.

What Did God Say?

And once I point someone to God’s Word, what they choose to do with it the Holy Spirit in me a inner peace to say self "that is between them and God."

That principle did not only change the way I ministered to others—it changed a harmony within me.

I have experienced rejection, ridicule, rape, pain, disappointment, heartbreak, and damaging dilemmas of various circumstances throughout my life but none of those experiences got the final word.

God’s Word became my final word.

Through His Word, I learned to exercise forgiveness and forgetting.

Through His Word, I learned to release rejection and ridicule.

Through His Word, I learned to find peace that surpasses all my understanding in the midst of chaos.

Through His Word, I learned to trust God when I could not understand what was happening.

Through His Word, I found the strength to keep moving forward in the serenity to accept the things I could not change and the wisdom to know the difference.

I learned. I was released and I transformed. I give all the glory to God.

Three Scriptures became important foundations in my journey.

Proverbs 3:5–6 taught me to trust in the Lord, acknowledge Him in all my ways, and allow Him to direct my path.

Jeremiah 33:3 taught me to call upon God and trust Him to answer and show me great and mighty things that I did not know.

And St. John 1:1 reminds me:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

That is the heart of WDGS.

When life becomes confusing, I ask:

What Did God Say?

When I need direction:

What Did God Say?

When I am hurting:

What Did God Say?

When I need to forgive, release, heal, or find peace:

What Did God Say?

WDGS is more than an acronym.

It represents a question.

It represents a process.

It represents a standard.

And most importantly, it represents the foundation the Holy Spirit gave me to pour into the lives of others.

Today, I carry that message through ministry, coaching, books, podcasts, teaching, social media, resources, and other creative expressions.

My mission is not simply to tell people what I think.

My desire is to assist people in discovering what God’s Word says concerning their identity, challenges, decisions, relationships, purpose, healing, and ability to move forward.

Because I know personally what the Word of God can do.

I am not standing today because life has always been easy.

I am standing because God’s Word became greater than what happened to me.

What people said about me did not get the final word.

What people did to me did not get the final word.

My pain did not get the final word.

My past did not get the final word.

God’s Word became my final word.

That is the foundation of my transformation.

That is the foundation of my ministry.

That is the foundation of my coaching.

And that is the message I desire to pour into others:

What Did God Say?

So when you need direction, healing, forgiveness, peace, purpose, confirmation, or simply the strength to take another step, go back to the foundation and ask:

What Did God Say?

Because when everything else has been spoken, based upon Isaiah 40:8:

God’s Word shall stand forever.
